Our suite of sustainability solutions helps customers make dramatic contributions to the low carbon transition. Illustrated below is the impact made possible through the sale of voluntary 5 TWh in Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in 2023. Voluntary RECs represent volumes that exceed any minimum state requirements.
Since our first sale in 2007, we have grown to become America’s Energy Greentailer™ offering RECs that support hydro, wind, solar, landfill, and “any source.” We also offer RECs in markets that are not yet open to competition such as Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
In 2023, voluntary RECs sales represent the avoidance of 3,492,951 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, or the equivalent of the CO2 emissions from:
