PJM Says It Can Meet Demand During Hotter-Than-Usual Summer

PJM said it has the necessary resources to meet demand during the coming summer, which is expected to bring above-average temperatures to almost all the grid operator’s market. It projected that electric usage will peak at more than 150,000 MW, and reported having 184,010 MW of installed generating capacity available. That translates to a reserve margin of over 28 percent, far higher than the required 16.1 percent.
