PJM Board Okays $629 Million In New Transmission Projects

The PJM Board of Directors authorized $629 million of new transmission upgrades and additions, including 47 projects to replace aging equipment, meet growing demand, and account for nuclear retirements. All of the approved projects are aimed at maintaining system reliability. The investment will support new transformers and new and improved substations, among other projects. With these initiatives, PJM has authorized $36.7 billion in enhancements since 2000.
