February 06, 2017
In its recently released Distributed Energy Resource Roadmap, NYISO outlines its vision for building a more diverse, distributed, bi-directional grid while offering a guide to developers, communities, and other key stakeholders for more optimized utilization. According to the grid operator, effective integration of distributed energy resources will lead to improved system efficiency and resiliency, energy security, and fuel diversity, and provide consumers with greater control of their electricity usage and costs by enabling the introduction of new technologies. With these advancements, NYISO consumers can change their consumption profiles, lower costs, access new sources of revenue, and reduce the environmental impacts of their energy use.
