Inflation Remains 3X Target

The Consumer Price Index inflation rate slowed to 6.4% over the past 12 months. The January reading was the seventh straight monthly drop and is a significant improvement over the 40-year high of 9.1% in June 2022. However, the rate remains much above the 2% rate that the Federal Reserve Bank targets.
