Texas Is Top U.S. Power User; State’s Prices Well Below National Average
January 31, 2017
Texas used the most electricity of any state in 2015, according to new data released by the U.S. Department of Energy. The state used nearly 400 million kWh of electricity, and led the nation for most use in homes, commercial buildings, and industrial properties. California and Florida came in second and third, respectively, but each uses more than 100 million kWh less power than Texas does. Texas’ overall average electricity prices were also well below the national average in most categories.
