Deregulation: Still Up For Debate

This week, we spotlight insights from a recent web survey. The question posed: “It’s been more than two decades since energy markets were deregulated in the U.S. Have competitive markets delivered on their promise?”

The responses were telling. Half of the participants believe deregulation has succeeded, citing ongoing positive evolution in the sector. Another 36% expressed mixed feelings, acknowledging both benefits and drawbacks. Interestingly, 13% of respondents wish for a return to pre-deregulation days, signaling lingering dissatisfaction.
